It's been two weeks since my last post? I thought I was just here! :)
Progress has been made in the new house. We are trying to paint the entire interior of the house as it's in desperate need of an update. Not only the color, but the walls have been terrorized by children for the last few years and it shows. Adisson's room was painted two different shades of green by the homeowners and due to the amount of work that needed to be done in such a small room, that's where we started. We finally finished it, the downstairs bathroom, and we're nearly done with the den downstairs. We've put the first coat on several walls upstairs but haven't really started in the bedrooms. Fortunately, I have some AMAZING friends who are coming over to help me paint today. I am hoping we can defy time constraints and get A TON of painting done. We'll see....
Packing is going ok. We've kinda stopped at this point, however. We've already packed up so many non-essentials that it's hard to do much more until later this week. At some point, I'll need to pack a suitcase for the kids to have so they have access to clean clothes while everything else is boxed up. Then the rest of the packing can commence. I think we're doing alright. Adam, however, is starting to panic a little that we aren't going to get it all done. I remind him that there is no other choice, that it will be done regardless, we'll just see how hectic it is to finish!
The carpet gets installed in the new place tomorrow, hence the need to finish painting this weekend. Our amazing landlord told us that after the carpet is installed, we can start moving stuff in. We also need to purchase all new blinds for every window (there aren't any currently) so this week I think we'll be taking a few boxes over everyday and installing mini-blinds and building bookshelves.
I've got to get some stuff cleaned up while Adam is out. He's running a few errands and then heading to the house to do some prep work before I head over with my friends. We're having a heckuva time trying to get a few last minute items and it's really starting to stress him out. Moving can be the pits. But one week from today I'll be waking up in our new house, with new carpet, new paint, new blinds, new lights (errr, maybe!) and all my little guys in their own rooms. Sometimes we get tunnel vision and focus only on what's currently going on and forget to see the bigger picture. I hope I can remind Adam today what the bigger picture is. :) All this hard work will pay off.
